If you see "Jumping Ibex" anywhere in the film industry, it's basically me: Hossein Behboudi Rad.
I'm an independent Iranian documentary producer, based in the UK. Interested in short documentaries with social and political angles. And "Jumping Ibex" is the business name I use.
My profile consists of films premiered or awarded in festivals such as Telluride, IDFA, Visions du Réel, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Dok-Leipzig, Hot Docs and more than 100 more other festivals. I was lucky and these films also always been recognized in the award season by getting nominated or awarded by major awards such as Cinema Eye Honors, IDA Awards, Critics Choice Documentary Awards, BIFA, Student Academy Awards, SIMA Awards and etc.
The films I produced being support by IDA, Pulitzer Center and One World Media; awarded on forums such as Dok-Leipzig Short-n-sweet; and broadcasted/streamed via platforms such as NYC Times Op-Docs, DW, NHK, VPRO, VG, Staff Pick, etc.
By the way, I know "Jumping Ibex" seems like a weird name but it has a good history: Jumping Ibex, is actually one of the very earliest attempts of human being to tell stories in motion pictures (if not the earliest one). A masterpiece from 6000 years ago that being made on a pot in south east part of Iran.(Check the bottom of this page to see an image of it)
Elahe returns to her hometown in Mashhad, Iran, to help her
parents move to a new place after 40 years.
Influenced by the Woman-Life-Freedom movement, she's also
hoping for a bigger move, not just a new apartment.
In the religious Iranian city of Qom, there are restrictions imposed on women in the name of “sexual safety.” Hossein grew up in this context, but as a young boy he found himself victimized, left to carry this secret into adulthood. Now, with the help of his wife Elahe, he is confronting his trauma.
After consulting with his relatives a 35-year-old father consents to the marriage of his 14-year-old daughter. As individuals with differing perspectives his family grapple with the decision.
A man who wants to pass the border, disguises himself as a ram.

Sara (a 24-year-old girl) is supposed to babysit Matin (a 6-year-old boy) for the day, while his mother is at work. In the morning Matin tells Sara a story of a fight with his mother from the night before, this leads to a series of events through the day which will change Matin and Sara for the rest of their lives.

Always more than happy to be in contact about in of my films or anything else.
Just a side note: I don't work on distribution or sales anymore, and for productions, as you can see my profile is really only personal films. To be honest, I feel I work more like a director/filmmaker than a producer. However, given above, still I will be more than happy to be in touch, if you like to be in touch with me.

Just thought you might want to see an image of the actual ancient motion picture. If you circulate this pot, it will be an ibex that is enjoying her life by jumping and playing.
If you like to see it in real life head to National Museum of Iran in Tehran.
